XCode 3 and Safari 4 Beta apparently don't get along too well. Two bounces on the dock, and XCode disappears, completely failing to launch. According to my crash log:

com.apple.launchd[209] ([0x0-0x381381].com.apple.Xcode[8727]) Exited abnormally: Illegal instruction

[0x0-0x383383].com.apple.Xcode[8730] objc[8730]: '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DebugSymbols.framework/Versions/A/DebugSymbols' was not compiled with -fobjc-gc or -fobjc-gc-only, but the application requires GC

[0x0-0x383383].com.apple.Xcode[8730] objc[8730]: *** GC capability of application and some libraries did not match

Luckily, there's a fix. Just download XCode 3.1.2. Go get a cup of coffee-- it's a 996 MB download.
