I've been dabbling in music for most of my life, and I've taught myself to play a variety of instruments, including keyboards, acoustic guitar, bass, and mountain dulcimer. I had several bands in college, including Blacklight and Invisible Inc.

It was during my time in Austin that I seemed hit my stride (in terms of performance, at least.) I sang, wrote, and played keyboards for Uncle Karma. Fellow bandmates included Craig Chin on bass and Bill "Jag" Jagitsch on guitar, both of whom have gone on to do interesting projects. In addition to a few public gigs (including the Austin Multimedia Festival and K-NCK's Home Groan Music Festival), we played regularly on a local public-access program called Content Neutral.

Pretty rough and low-fi recordings from our rehearsals and our demo cassette (circa 1993):

Since moving to Chicago and settling down, my musical activities have been limited to collaboration with a couple of friends and composition and recording in my home studio. You can hear my latest efforts on last.fm, released under the name Dust and a Shadow. The first album, Mythos, is a collection of songs inspired by stories from H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.

You can listen to all of the tracks on Mythos for free:
